Now in its 3rd generation, The Giglio Band has been providing “La Musica Della Festa” for well over 70 years! Led for over 25 years by Danny Vecchiano, the band performs at dozens of different venues annually. The band is the exclusive musical accompaniment for the world famous “Dancing of the Giglio”.   This amazing tradition involves a 75 foot, 4- ton tower carried by 100 faithful men with our band on top of it, in honor of their Patron Saint in Italy, where the tradition was born. Originally in Williamsburg and East Harlem, there are now Giglio feasts all over the tri-state area, and Danny and his band are the only ones that can make the “Dance” come to life! Besides the Giglio feasts, the band performs at countless Italian and American parades, festivals, and events, including the indomitable Feast of San Gennaro in Little Italy! They have made appearances in many TV shows, movies, and news and documentary pieces, including “The Sopranos” and “Mean Streets”, and have performed with greats like Tony Bennett, and more recently, Sal “the Voice” Valentinetti.
